It’s a well-known fact that Midtown Manhattan residents are often immersed in the fast-paced rhythm of their lives. If they were to pause and look up at the sky, they might be greeted by a serene blue expanse. However, on the morning of November 9, an unusual sight awaited them – a man with flowing hair dressed in an orange suit ascending the summit of the Empire State Building. Was this the famed Spider-Man, the hero of Queens? No, it was none other than Jared Leto, an Academy Award winner and the frontman of 30 Seconds to Mars.
In a bid to promote the band’s upcoming global tour, Leto chose to climb one of the most iconic landmarks in the country, the fourth-tallest skyscraper in New York City. Accompanied by helicopter footage showcasing his remarkable athleticism reminiscent of Peter Parker, the multi-talented individual—actor, singer, and climber—marked the Seasons 2024 World Tour with the extraordinary feat of being the first person to scale the Empire State Building.
Jared Leto expressed his deep admiration for the iconic landmark of the city, a fascination rooted in his youth. In a statement, he conveyed, “The building is a testament to all the things that can be achieved in the world if we set our minds to it, which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, ‘It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.’”
Released on September 15 through Concord Records, the album “It’s The End of The World But It’s a Beautiful Day” features the collaborative efforts of Leto and his brother Shannon, both integral members of the rock band.
The band’s forthcoming tour kicks off in Latin America, with scheduled performances in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. Subsequently, they embark on a European leg, encompassing 28 shows across the continent. The tour then heads to North America, where AFI, Poppy, and Kenny Hoopla will join them for 24 shows. The global journey concludes with four arena shows in Australia and New Zealand.
