A 30-year-old woman died after being struck by a New York City Department of Sanitation truck while crossing a street in Brooklyn on Wednesday evening, police said.
The collision happened around 6:40 p.m. on Bay Parkway. According to police, the truck was making a right turn when it hit the woman as she crossed the roadway.
Emergency responders took her to NYU Langone Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The truck’s 41-year-old driver remained at the scene. No arrests had been announced as of the report’s publication.
Authorities have not released the woman’s identity. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
