New York City police are searching for a suspect after a confrontation aboard an E train escalated into a frightening incident in which a passenger was pushed onto the subway tracks at the West Fourth Street–Washington Square station in Greenwich Village.
According to reports, the confrontation began aboard the train before continuing onto the platform. During the dispute, the victim was allegedly shoved off the platform and onto the tracks. (New York Post)
Bystanders at the station quickly intervened, helping pull the man from the tracks before another train entered the station. Their actions prevented the incident from becoming potentially fatal.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital, where he was treated for injuries described as minor.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene, and the NYPD is continuing its search while investigating the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
