New York City is preparing for the 44th National Dominican Day Parade, scheduled for Sunday, August 9, as thousands of spectators are expected to gather in Midtown Manhattan for one of the city’s largest celebrations of Dominican culture and heritage.
The parade is set to travel along Sixth Avenue, from West 37th Street to West 55th Street, bringing colorful floats, music, dancers and community organizations into the heart of Manhattan.
City agencies and law enforcement are preparing for the large crowds expected along the route. Traffic restrictions and temporary street closures are anticipated around Sixth Avenue and surrounding Midtown streets, while officers will be deployed to manage crowds and maintain security throughout the event.
