Former film producer Harvey Weinstein is scheduled to appear in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday for sentencing following his conviction for sexually assaulting former television production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006. The 74-year-old faces up to 25 years in prison on the New York charge.
Wednesday’s hearing follows a lengthy legal process. Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2020, but New York’s highest court overturned that conviction in 2024 after finding that he had not received a fair trial. A jury convicted him again on the charge involving Haley at a retrial in 2025.
Haley is expected to give a victim impact statement, and Weinstein is also expected to address the court. A separate rape charge involving Jessica Mann was dropped after a jury deadlocked at a further trial earlier this year. Weinstein also faces resentencing in a separate California case.
As of the latest report reviewed, the New York sentence had not yet been announced.
