New York police are searching for a man accused of attacking three children inside a park in Brooklyn’s Red Hook area, in a disturbing incident that has raised concern among residents and families.

According to police, the incident happened inside Bush-Clinton Park in the Red Hook Recreation Area. Investigators say the suspect approached three children — a 5-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old boy — before violently assaulting them.

The man allegedly pushed the 5-year-old and 12-year-old children to the ground, then grabbed the 7-year-old boy by the neck and attempted to strangle him. Emergency medical workers treated the children at the scene, while the 7-year-old reportedly suffered bruising and pain after the attack.

The suspect fled the park on foot after the assault. Police have released details as part of their effort to identify him and are asking anyone with information to contact authorities.

The attack has added to public concern about safety in city parks, especially in areas used by families and children. Parks are supposed to be safe public spaces, and incidents involving young victims often increase pressure on local authorities to strengthen patrols, surveillance, and community reporting.

No arrest has been announced so far, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are urging the public not to approach the suspect directly, but to share any information that could help detectives identify and locate him.
