A 45-year-old man was seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation outside a store in Manhattan, according to New York City police.
The attack occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of West 52nd Street and 10th Avenue in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Investigators said an argument between the victim and another man escalated into violence, culminating in the stabbing.
Emergency medical personnel transported the wounded man to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. Despite the severity of the injury, authorities said he was in stable condition following the incident.
The suspected attacker fled north along 10th Avenue immediately after the assault. Police described him as wearing a white sweater, white shorts and white sneakers at the time of the incident.
No arrests had been announced, and investigators were continuing to search the surrounding area and examine available surveillance footage. Authorities have not disclosed what caused the initial dispute or whether the victim and suspect knew each other.
The stabbing comes amid renewed concern about several recent knife-related attacks across New York City, including incidents in Midtown Manhattan, Times Square and the subway system. The latest cases have intensified public discussion about street safety, mental-health services and the visibility of police officers in busy commercial and residential districts.
