The 2025 New York City Marathon once again lived up to its reputation as one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events, bringing together tens of thousands of runners, millions of spectators, and record-breaking performances across multiple categories.

Winners and Records

Kenya’s Hellen Obiri captured global attention by setting a new women’s course record of 2:19:51, surpassing the previous mark by nearly a full minute. Obiri’s precision pacing and powerful final surge through Central Park secured her second consecutive New York victory.

In the men’s division, fellow Kenyan Benson Kipruto triumphed in 2:08:32, edging out his compatriot Albert Korir in a thrilling finish decided by less than 15 seconds — one of the closest in recent marathon history.
