Flight Attendant Injured in Minor Runway Collision at LaGuardia Airport

0

A minor collision between two aircraft on a runway at LaGuardia Airport left a flight attendant injured, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred while one plane was taxiing and another was preparing for departure. The contact between the two aircraft caused limited structural damage but resulted in one crew member being hurt. The injured flight attendant was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while no passenger injuries were reported.

Following the collision, both planes were taken out of service for inspection, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap. Preliminary reports suggest that miscommunication on the ground may have contributed to the incident.

Passengers were rebooked on alternate flights, though the accident caused temporary delays across the airport, one of the busiest travel hubs in the country.

Officials emphasized that while the collision was disruptive, it posed no serious threat to passenger safety, and all standard emergency procedures were followed. The FAA is expected to release a detailed report once the investigation is complete.
