A 39-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn late Saturday night, police said.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire near Montrose Avenue and Bushwick Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) rushed the man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
