A tragic drive-by shooting in Chicago’s River North neighborhood has left four people dead and 14 others injured, according to a statement released by the Chicago Police Department.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on July 2, when a dark-colored vehicle approached a group of individuals standing outside a venue and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Witnesses told investigators that the gathering was related to an album release party taking place at a nearby nightclub, as reported by multiple outlets including WGN News.

The victims who lost their lives include two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women whose ages have not yet been disclosed. The injured, ranging in age from 21 to 32, were transported to local hospitals. Authorities confirmed that three victims are in critical condition: one sustained a gunshot wound to the back, another was shot in the leg, and the third was shot in the mouth.

As of the morning of July 3, no arrests have been made. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This mass shooting marks one of the deadliest incidents in Chicago so far this year and adds to growing concerns about gun violence in the city’s entertainment districts.
