Biden says Iowa win makes Trump the Republicans’ ‘clear front runner’

0

On Monday, Democratic President Joe Biden acknowledged Donald Trump’s status as the “clear front runner” for the Republican candidacy in the US election following Trump’s victory in the Iowa caucuses.

Biden made the statement on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “Looks like Donald Trump just won Iowa. He’s the clear frontrunner on the other side at this point.”

Following his victory in the Iowa caucuses, former US President Donald Trump urged Americans to unite, stating, “It is time for our country to come together.” As the likely Republican candidate to face President Joe Biden in November’s election, Trump is poised to secure more than half of the votes, with 91 percent of the ballots counted in the Iowa caucuses.

Despite leading in polls for over a year, this Republican contest serves as a crucial indicator of Trump’s ability to translate his advantage into a successful return to the White House.
